My mom let me know a couple days ago that soon after I get home we’ll be visiting my grandparents in Las Vegas (ROADTRIP~!). I was feeling pretty good about the fact that this might be a chance to finally have a nice visit with them (aka a visit that doesn’t end in 5+ years of ignoring each other) but my spirits were dampened just a teensy bit when the first thing my grandma said when she learned of our visit was “THERE’S NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR YOU TO STAY HERE.” Oh, don’t you just love family Where’s that picture book grandma who would be waiting with fresh cookies and milk?? No but really I’m still pretty excited because family reunion or not, Vegas should be a cool place to visit. And my sister has been all excited over this restaurants.com website so she’s hoarded a bunch of coupons for nice places to eat out at.

One of the first things I have scheduled for when I get back, though, is to GET A HAIRCUT. I can cut my own hair alright, but we’re talking trims here people. And seeing as I’ve been here over a year without a “real” haircut (I don’t trust the barbers here, they don’t understand English very well and I will not risk them cutting off all my hair!!) I feel the need for one, badly. But not to worry, I had my mom book an appointment with a good stylist a couple weeks back so I’m all set

All in all I’m veryyy excited to go back, and I’m leaving so soon! It will be crazy to be back in the U.S. after all this time living in Kuwait. I’ll probably have a mild case of reverse culture shock haha Something along the lines of ‘I can actually understand what the people around me are saying?!’ Because seriously, the moments I hear a convo going on around me in English are very rare indeed. Anyways I guess it’s about time I wrapped this up. I’ll try to get that layout up soon. Definitely before I leave at the end of this week!

Also added a new set of mini dolls with a beach theme… when it’s almost winter… yeah I don’t know where that came from either haha It was probably just an excuse to draw an inner tube doughnut.

Anyways, I haven’t been feeling very creative lately I guess it’s because I’m busy getting ready to move, stressing over applying to Utah State, and I just started a new term this week so I’m not really used to the new classes yet. I’m taking my first college history course, and I’ve never been good at memorizing names/dates so it’s looking like this will be a tough term in that aspect. I actually wish I could have just taken more accounting classes instead

I found a way to make custom cursors work in firefox though so I will soon be adding those to the content. No more IE only cursors!

In other news the crime rate against Americans around here is getting pretty crazy lately. Most Americans aren’t even allowed off base anymore, let alone in downtown Kuwait, which happens to be where I live I’m actually getting a little worried, since before it was just a warning, but now they are completely restricting a lot of people from going into the city. I talked to my dad and it’s looking like I’ll be moving sooner than this summer, I’m thinking like January. The only problem is, I’m already going home for December, and I have to come back here with my brother. So it would be a huge waste of $1,000 to fly me back again right after for something that might not even be that serious, and I don’t think either of my parents can pay for it. I’m hoping something will work out though.

I’m also going to try applying to Utah State University pretty soon. I originally wanted to try for the University of Utah, but I have to wait for last term’s grades to come out before I can apply there, and that will take me too far past the application deadline so it’s a no go for now. Utah State sounds really nice though so I’m definitely okay with it

I’m sooo not excited for the plane trip though. It’s very, very long As in more than 12 hours long. I think it’s 14 hours total with all the layovers and stuff. When I was flying over here last summer, I swear I was close to passing out from exhaustion by the time I finally got here. I should have slept on the plane, but falling asleep in public isn’t something I can do so, yeah. Anyways, I have exams tomorrow in three classes so I better go study for them… I’ll get back to updating regularly again after I’m done stressing over them haha wish me luck!

Oh, before I go, I added some new AIM icons, mostly image ones. What do you think? Would you rather see just pixel ones or do you like image ones too?

So here’s the little fur ball, his name is Peanut :’D I realized I always pick food names for my pets.

He’s so cute, in the dorkiest way for a cat. oh and for more ~cat themed news~, I finished up a kitty pixel a couple days ago that my good friend Caz commissioned! I won’t show it here, but you can check her blog if you’d like to see it since she will probably be using it there.

Alright well this weekend I’ll be busy catching up on some assignments that are due soon, but on Monday or Tuesday I plan on putting up a fun Haunted House competition if I can get it to work right. It will be the first activity to have some prizes!

Also, sorry I haven’t blogged for awhile, my next post will have some updates about what’s been going on in my life (since it’s sooo interesting and I know all of you are looking forward to it!! )

I’ve finished putting up a Pumpkin Carving mini activity, and there will be lots more to come including games and puzzles with prizes of either custom graphics or Halloween themed goodie bags full of items like handmade clay charms and more that I will be posting pictures of later on. So make sure you check in often this month, there will be a lot going on

The day it went up I was having trouble logging in, so I didn’t actually log on to the game until today. First I had to log in with my Sanrio Town username and password. Then I had to choose what server and world I would enter (not very hard since there were no other options…).

Anyways, after that it’s time to choose my new HKO username and pick the look for my character. There’s only 3 different options for the hair and face so it doesn’t look at all like me At least choosing a username was easy, since there’s still lots of them available. I chose “Kat”.

After you enter the introduction room, you’re given an option to go to the right and talk with guides, or go to the left, which leads outside.

I went right since I wanted to meet the guides and get some more information.

The third “Dream Room” is a My Melody theme and her parents are there too (since when did My Melody have parents??). I really like this room, it’s so pink!

Aaand we’re in Dream Room four. How many of these things are there? Anyways, Keroppi and his parents (ok this character parent thing must be new) are in here… giving more instructions.

Dream Room five woo. Notice how my character looks exactly like that other one over there? That would be because, like I mentioned, there are three options for hair and faces. I really hope I can change it later on Anyways you can see Hello Kitty’s mom and dad, yep the Sanrio characters all have parents now, it’s official. No just kidding, I actually wasn’t surprised by this one. I already knew that Hello Kitty had parents (and a sister I think?).

AH IT’S CINNAMOROLL~~ oh.. and Pochacco too this room is my favorite so far, Cinnamoroll is my favorite Sanrio character.

And finally you get to enter Sanrio Land. I’m at the Sanrio Harbor entrance. Looks cute so far!

There are Sanrio characters all around the Harbor waiting to give you quests (which are really confusing for me right now). And also all the buildings are really, really cute.

So yeah that’s about it so far! I’m working on quests and stuff, but it’s taking awhile to get the hang of this game. Is anyone else a member of the founder’s beta?

However! (lol sounds like I’m writing a research paper) I got my package from Kei earlier this week and I was really happy with everything. Nothing like some new stuff to make you feel better. She also included a couple cute little gifts in the package, it was so sweet! I’ve posted some of the contents on my poupee already, but I’m trying to limit it to one upload a day since I get more ribbons that way. okayyy well anyways I’m hoping to get some actual content added before this week is over, but the way things are going I don’t have much hope for the next three days

I got some good news the other day, even though I won’t be moving back home anymore (long story), I will probably be visiting for Christmas. I haven’t seen snow for like two years now, I think once I get there I’ll run outside and make the hugest snowman EVER. Too bad christmas is… three months from now. But at least it gives me something to look forward to!

alright well now that this layout is up, I can finally continue working on those blinkies, so watch for them!

Got those packages from my mom yesterday. She includes the oddest things, like these packets of candycane cocoa mix from last christmas (they’re still good though!). But she also sent the beads and ribbon I asked her for And so I made this last night, while my internet was being too slow for me to even bother with.

In other news, I need a job!! It’s really hard to find good one around here though. Most of the jobs are contracting and you need “specialized skills” for them. I’m specialized in doodling on a computer, yes, but programming one? NO THANKS. I think it’s time to put google to some good use and find me a job~

I’m also working on those pixel tutorials and I want to add either some premade blinkies or a custom blinkie maker. Or maybe both idk~
